Start Tap Dancing Today
With Reggio “The Hoofer” and Friends

Welcome to the world of tap, the poetry of sound in motion. You’ll be performing with Reggio “the Hoofer” and his students of all ages.

Reginald McLaughlin, professionally known as Reggio “The Hoofer,” has traveled all around the world, contributing to the preservation of authentic, traditional tap dancing. This percussive, lyric form of dance is rooted in African and Irish rhythmic dance, which were blended in America to create a unique folk dance.

Narrating the history of tap through the sounds of his feet, Reggio captivates audiences of all ages with his unique style of hoofing. His programs have been profiled on educational television, in newspapers, magazines, books, and on Broadway. He has appeared in several documentaries, including the classic JUBA – Masters of Tap.

As your tap teacher, Reggio will share the steps and styles from Vaudeville and Broadway that he has performed around the world and at Chicago’s Athenaeum Theater, where he and his friends will be tap dancing with you today.
